Miss Leslie
Leslie LaFlamme, Owner & Director - Leslie graduated with Honor with an Associates Degree in Science concentrating in Business Management from CCRI in Lincoln, RI; and she graduated with High Honor with an Associates Degree in Art concentrating in Dance from Dean College in May 2006.  Leslie began teaching Creative Movement classes in 2000, later expanding her teaching to reach age 9.  She attended workshops at Dance Olympus for three years and Manhatten Dance Project in 2003 & 2004.  Leslie has taken Master Classes at Tap City in NYC (2004, 2005, 2006); attended master seminars with Derrick Grant, Dianne Walker, and Jimmy Slyde; attended DMA seminars and workshops (2007 & 2008), and has taken Master Tap Classes with Thelma Goldberg and Derrick Grant.  As a teacher, Leslie hopes to instill a life-long love and appreciation of dance to her students.  She continues her dance education by attending and being active in various Monsters of Hip Hop Conventions between Worcester, New York City, New Jersey and Orlando, FL beginning in October 2008. 
Miss Ashley

Ashley LaFlamme, Associate Teacher - Ashley began dancing at the age of 5 and became an Assistant Teacher by the age of 11.  She came to MDC as a student and Assistant Teacher at its inception.  Ashley is a 2009 graduate of Dean College, holding an AA in Dance.  She has taken several classes in a variety of disciplines with a number of Masters, including:  Savion Glover, Jason Samuels Smith, Derrick Grant, Chloe Arnold, and Dianne Walker; as well as attended Dance Olympus, Tap City (2004, 2005, 2006), and Manhattan Dance Project (2003).  Ashley's goal, after completing her education, is to continue to grow as a performer and teacher through various outlets, including Master Classes in several genres of dance. 

2007 was Ashley's first year as a teacher at MDC; we feel her upbeat attitude and familiarity with the studio and its teachers & students will enhance her success.


Miss Melissa
Melissa Petrillo, Associate Teacher - Melissa began dancing at the tender age of 3 with Dance Spectrum Adacemy.  She is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, Latin dance, Hip Hop and Reggae.  Melissa earned her BA in Psychology at the University of Rhode Island, her AA in Dance at Dean College, then went on to earn her Masters in Psychology at Assumption College. 

Melissa specializes in Hip Hop and Reggae and has competed and performed in both for over a decade.  She received her Hip Hop training under prominent Hip Hop teachers such as, Wyatt Jackson and Kelley Peters among others.  She has also participated in various Master Classes with well-known choreographers:  Luam, Poppin' Pete, and Rhapsody James.  Melissa has 10 years of teaching experience at all ages & levels and has received several Hip Hop Choreography awards, including High Gold Awards at many local competitions such as Spirit of Dance and Headliners.

Melissa is excited to be returning to MDC so she can share her passion and love of Hip Hop with her students!

Miss Kathleen

Kathleen Brouillard, Associate Teacher - From the age of 5 through her high school years, Kathleen studied with the Diane Cournoyer School of Dance, taking ballet, pointe and jazz classes.  In her teenage years, she became an assistant teacher at DCSC, helping with younger childrens' classes.  Kathleen performed with Worcester Ballet Society and in the Nutcracker by the Boston Ballet.  During this time, she also attended weekly classes at the Ballet Theatre of Boston.

Kathleen has taught and choreographed for students of various ages in ballet, jazz and lyrical.  She has maintained her training throughout her life by attending annual dance conventions and taking as many classes as she could fit into her schedule.  Kathleen earned her BS in Science from Nichols College, graduating Summa Cum Laude.

Kathleen has brought a passionate love for dance to MDC, which she hopes to share with all her students beginning in September 2011.


Jared
Jared Vasquez, Associate Teacher - Jared was born in Worcester and has been dancing and performing for more than a decade.  He enjoys learning and creating innovative choreography, specifically Hip Hop and Modern.  Jared was a member of the Hispania Dance Company, under the direction of Miss Lindiana Flores.  This association allowed him to perform many original pieces throughout Worcester since.  His Company was also hired to perform at the Ursinus College in Collegetown, PA and the Tri-Country Festival in Nova Scotia.  March, 2011 introduced Jared to the competitive side of dance...he has since won several titles and awards, including the "Mr. Nexstar" title. 

Jared continues his training at Central Mass Dance Academy in Worcester and various other workshops throught out New England and New York.  He is currently studying Ballet, Modern, Lyrical, Flamenco, Salsa, and Hip Hop.  Jared will be majoring in Dance after graduation and is excited to begin his teaching career at MDC!

Miss Emily Brochu  - Student Teacher -  Miss Molly is very excited to start student teaching at MDC!  She has wanted to teach for as long as she can remember....doing many choreographed pieces for herself and her sisters.  Being able to put forth some of her ideas is amazing for her and she is so grateful for this opportunity! She plans to obtain a dance degree in college and pursue a professional career in the dance field beginning in the Fall of 2012.
Miss Rebecca Metivier - Student Teacher - Miss Becca began dancing in 1998 and has been an Assistant Teacher at MDC since 2009.  She has studied ballet at the State Ballet of Rhode Island and has taken classes in a variety of styles - everything from ballet, to hip hop to tap!  Dance has always been her passion and she plans to minor in dance when attending college in the fall of 2013.  She hopes to someday be the owner of her own studio.
These young ladies will begin their teaching careers during the Fall 2011 classes.  Both will be under the guidance and direction of Miss Leslie and and are truly excited to begin this next step in their dance careers!
